The founder of Mhlaba International Money Sender Group (PTY) LTD, Emihle Maunde, has always been driven by a deep sense of purpose and a strong desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others. Growing up in the vibrant community of Kayamandi Zone O in Stellenbosch, South Africa, Emihle was raised by her mother, Bulelwa Mhlaba, a resilient woman who single-handedly supported their family. Emihle experienced firsthand the challenges of growing up in poverty, but she also learned the immense value of hard work, determination, and resourcefulness.

From a young age, Emihle understood the importance of contributing to the family’s well-being. While many children took holidays off, she and her sister would often accompany their mother to work, assisting and earning extra income during school breaks. This early exposure to the value of hard work shaped Emihle’s perspective on life and instilled in her a deep sense of responsibility and determination to succeed.

During these formative years, Emihle made a promise to herself: one day, she would build a successful future and make her mother proud. Her entrepreneurial spirit was further nurtured by her husband, Sergio Maunde, who introduced her to the world of business and cross-border trade. Through visits to Mozambique and other neighboring countries, Emihle gained valuable insights into the complexities and opportunities of international business.

It was during these experiences that Emihle recognized a significant gap in efficient and reliable trade services between African countries. Motivated by a desire to address these challenges, she founded Mhlaba International Money Sender Group to provide a solution that would empower people on both sides of the border.

Emihle’s personal journey of perseverance, hard work, and determination laid the foundation for the company.
